Honeywell Standalone Fire Communications Kit Eliminates Need For Phone Lines, Brings in Sales

Code-Compliant Solution Relies on Multi-technology Signal to Increase Reliability, Decrease Customer Costs

MELVILLE, NY, August 5, 2008 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced the release of the iGSMCF – a unique new standalone commercial fire communications product that delivers a higher level of reliability thanks to multi-technology signal via the Internet and GSM. It is designed to help dealers increase recurring monthly revenue while decreasing end-user costs.

The iGSMCF uses the Internet as a primary communications path and GSM as an alternative backup. The multi-path transmission capability eliminates the need for phone lines, saving the business owner money. Universal compatibility allows the product to be used with virtually any fire control panel.

Meeting UL864 standards and complying with NFPA72 Chapter 8 for communications transmission, the iGSMCF also meets the communication demands of commercial fire applications and AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction).

The iGSMCF is packaged in a convenient, all-inclusive kit containing Honeywell’s 7845-iGSM Internet and Digital Cellular Communicator, red cabinet, antenna and accessories.
